Jordan's Hobby

Bushcraft: a long-term extension of survival skills. Bushcraft is about surviving and thriving in the natural environment, and the acquisition of ancient skills and knowledge to do so. Bushcraft skills include; firecraft, tracking, hunting, shelter building, the use of tools such as knives and axes, foraging, hand-carving wood, container construction from natural materials, rope and twine-making, and many others. (Wikipedia)

This has been Jordan's obsession for the past couple of months. If he can find any free time between law school and hanging out with us he is usually doing this stuff:
Learning new knots
Lighting things on fire.
This was actually a test of his to see which types of man made objects would hold a flame the longest.
Carving, using his knife n' such.

Currently he is learning how to make an stove out of some pop cans.

While I do get upset sometimes with this obsession, I can't get too mad. I feel pretty darn safe if we ever have to live off the land. And its actually pretty neat - I tried my hand a couple times with making fire with just a knife and ferro rod. It was fun.

{Other bushcraft adventures jordan has done or learned how to do}
build a fire in the rain, how to weave, how to make arrowheads, how to build his own forge, how to use that forge to make my own knives, how to make his own jerky
-and this was all during Christmas break....

Happiest Place on Earth!

Levi's first trip to Disneyland was a complete success!
We had such a great time!!

The first day we got there we did some walking around downtown Disney and ate at the Jazz Kitchen.
The food there wasnt fantastic but it was alright.
Levi loved being at downtown Disney. There were so many people to look at and so many lights.
He did pretty good in his stroller too.
We bought him this cute little Winnie the Pooh bear there.

The next day we headed out for Disney.
The walk from our hotel was about 10 min. The weather was perfect! It was nice and sunny and not too hot and not too cold.
Just loverly.
We did a couple of parent switches on some rides but Levi went on most of the ones we did.
He rode: The Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Storybook Land, and Monsters Inc. at California Adventure.
He did really good with his naps while we were out and about, which I was kinda worried about. He fell asleep in our arms, and in the stroller. He actually took an 1 hr and a half nap in the stroller!
Disney is pretty awesome cause they have a mothers lounge kinda set up in one of the buildings down mainstreet. I was able to sit in there and nurse. Pretty comfortable set up.
We ate at our favorite resturant in Disney called Orleans Cafe.
YUM YUM YUM!
We split the Pomme Fries and Monte Cristo Sandwich. Both to die for.
We stayed in the park until about six.

We packed up and left the next day.
Im so glad we went with family.
It made the trip so much more enjoyable.

I cant wait to go again!!

Holiday Hiatus

Lots to catch up on...

{December 4th}
Andy and Carly were married.
Yay!

{Decmeber 15th}
Me and Jo celebrated our anniversary.
Three years :)
We walked the strip and ate at Maggianos.
I love my husband!

{December 25th}
We were all spoiled by our families.
Levi's first Christmas.

{New Years}
Love my cute family.
We ate dinner and played games at my dads house.
In other news:
Levi is 5 months.
Can you believe it?
He just keeps getting cuter and cuter.
He has been eating "solids" and his favorite so far is bananas and peas.
He hasn't rolled over yet but he is getting close.
He talks, smiles and laughs non stop, he is such a happy baby.
He is getting on a pretty good schedule where he takes a nap every 2 hours.
His naps will last anywhere from 30 min to 2 hours.
He wants to grab and touch anything and just about everything goes into his mouth.
Levi LOVES bath time now and has just learned how to splash.
He is such a people person. He loves to be the center of everyones attention.
He is getting better at sleeping at night and can soothe himself to sleep now - thanks to some serious sleep training.
He'll sleep about 8 hours, I'll feed him and then he'll sleep for another 2ish hours.

Jordan finished his first semester of law school.
We are so happy.
He has made some pretty good friends at law school. Some of which he grew the stache and beard with during finals.

I started Zumba in STG and have become a fan.
Love it.

I can't think of anything else so I guess thats all for now...
